Rays from Helios passionately waltz across the room, coddling me with warm, tender strokes, as I slowly awaken from my morning stupor. Like a hummingbird at first light, I sip the sweet aromas of the dawn’s nectar, invigorating myself into a euphoric frenzy of delight.
Central upon nature’s façade, I am a stealth observer, noticed by all, yet remembered by few. Observing the rich diaspora of modern life, decomposing observations into unique chains, like a chemist, deciphering the secret properties of carbon strings and molecular compositions.
In the public eye, my on-air engagements are quite useful, snatching irritants mid-stream and latching on to scent laced intruders trying to evade my meticulously layered screens of detection. Working without respite, I tend to be overlooked, like a whispering snore in the night.
Often, I am called upon to express a reactionary, judgmental comment upon others. An upturn and condescending glare, for scorn; a snort for stupidity or disbelief; flaring twerks and a stare, for the embers of rage; a series of sniffs, for belittlement or disdain.
Expressing such affectations, one of my more overlooked attributes, takes talent and artistic skill. Playing center stage, for sophomoric snoots sniping at one another, calls for a quick wit and adlibbing with aplomb. Ever nimble, lest the whiff of ridicule befall me, I stay ahead by a nose.
